Irish study visa financial requirements
Two separate money rules: fees you pay before applying, and funds you show for living costs.
Check my financial planLast updated 29 September 2026Figures checked against official sources, listed at the end
What you must pay and show
| Tuition paid before the visa | At least €6,000, or the full fee if lower (since 30 June 2025) |
|---|---|
| Living funds, courses over 8 months | At least €10,000, immediately available |
| Later years | Evidence of access to the costs |
| Statement history | 6 months, for you and your sponsor |
Sponsored by family
Your sponsor gives consent through the financial summary form or a signed declaration. Keep the money consolidated; spreading it across many sponsors raises the risk of refusal.
