MEXT full scholarshipCompare academic fit before choosing a destination
Begin with your intended subject, current qualification and available funding. Compare actual entry routes before assuming that the same qualification gives direct entry everywhere. Keep the full course duration visible, including any foundation or preparation stage.
The interactive comparison supports up to three destinations at once. Use it to organise your research, then check the specific course and immigration instructions.
Build my country comparison ↗Compare destinations through actual courses
Choose the qualification you want next and list the subjects you are prepared to study. For each destination, identify at least one course with a plausible entry route, then compare its complete duration and budget. A country may have several education systems, regions and institution types; a national summary cannot determine the requirements of every programme.
A decision worksheet for your family
| Decision | Evidence needed |
|---|---|
| Academic route | Qualification and subject requirements for a named course. |
| Affordability | Full tuition and living costs, plus payment dates and committed funds. |
| Language | Teaching language and accepted evidence for the course and applicable permission route. |
| Timing | Verified intake and deadlines, including scholarships. |
| Location | Campus, housing and travel arrangements you can realistically manage. |
Use uncertainty as a research task
Write “not confirmed” beside any missing requirement. Ask the university a focused question and save the reply rather than comparing guesses. If a destination looks attractive only because an unconfirmed scholarship or future income makes the budget work, keep an alternative plan while investigating further.
