The visa minimum is not your budget. Here is what each country asks you to show, and what it leaves out.

Costs Bangladeshi students often miss

  • Visa extras: the UK health surcharge (£776 a year, paid upfront), Canada’s medical exam, Finland’s trip to New Delhi.
  • Tests and applications: IELTS at ৳31,100, UCAS or university application fees, document verification.
  • Arrival: rent deposits, key money in Japan, winter clothing, a first month without wages.
  • Exchange rate: a weaker taka raises every foreign cost. Add a contingency.

How tuition leaves Bangladesh

Tuition has traditionally been sent through a bank that opens a student file against your admission letter and fee estimate, and wires the money to the university. In August 2026 Bangladesh Bank also allowed banks to issue cards for paying foreign tuition online, and this spending is kept separate from the USD 12,000 annual travel quota. Ask your bank which option it offers before your deposit deadline.

Calculate your full study cost

Enter all costs in the same currency. No fee or exchange rate is filled in automatically.

Other costs can include travel, visa fees, insurance and one-off charges. Do not deduct a scholarship you have not been awarded.

Enter your figures to calculate a full-course estimate.

Formula: ((annual tuition + 12 × monthly living) × years + other costs) × (1 + contingency ÷ 100). This is not a visa financial-evidence calculation.
