University College Dublin (UCD): highlights

University College Dublin is Ireland’s largest university and ranks joint 100th in the QS World University Rankings 2027. Its Bangladesh page sets a clear rule for school leavers: the HSC alone is not enough for direct entry.

  • After HSC: UCD asks for the HSC, Intermediate Certificate or Alim plus 2 years of a bachelor’s degree at a recognised university with acceptable grades. The other route is the UCD International Foundation Year.

Living costs in Dublin

Dublin is one of the most expensive student cities in Europe, mainly because of rent.

For the visa you show at least €10,000 for living costs and proof that you have paid at least €6,000 of tuition. You and your sponsor each provide 6 months of bank statements.

What one year costs in total

A one-year MSc Computer Science comes to at least €39,500: €29,500 in fees plus the €10,000 living-cost figure used for the visa. Real living costs in Dublin are usually higher.
