What universities publish for Bangladeshi degrees

UniversityPublished requirement
University of Sheffield2:1 = 65% or GPA 3.25/4; 2:2 = 55% or GPA 2.75/4
University of ManchesterTaught master’s typically GPA 3.2/4 from a 4-year bachelor’s
Trinity College DublinAt least a 2.1 honours equivalent for postgraduate study
Universiti MalayaA recognised diploma with CGPA 3.00+ for undergraduate entry

Many courses in the UK accept a 2:2. The same CGPA can meet one course and miss another, so check each programme page, not a general list.

Realistic options below the requirement

  • Courses that accept a 2:2: at Sheffield’s scale, that is GPA 2.75. Search course by course.
  • Relevant work experience: some master’s programmes weigh experience, and scholarships such as Chevening and DAAD EPOS require 2 years of it anyway.
  • Pre-master’s programmes: offered by some universities and pathway colleges; check that the progression route is to the degree you want.
  • Countries that assess the whole file: in the USA, admission is holistic and a strong upward trend or test score can help.
  • Strengthen the rest: a higher English score, a focused SOP and good references do not replace grades but help borderline cases.

Explaining a lower CGPA

If there was a real reason, such as illness or family responsibility, explain it briefly and factually in your statement, and show what changed. Point to evidence: final-year grades, a thesis mark or work results. Do not blame your university or invent circumstances.
