Pathways from HSC
The University of Melbourne does not list Bangladesh’s HSC as equivalent to Year 12, so HSC students usually take foundation studies first, with a guaranteed pathway through Trinity College Foundation Studies. Monash assesses overseas results against Year 12 and offers the Monash University Foundation Year and Monash College diplomas. Some diplomas lead into the second year of a degree, which can keep the total at 3 years.
What the full course can cost
An illustration for a 3-year degree plus a foundation year, not a quote:
| Tuition: 4 years × AUD 40,000 (assumed) | AUD 160,000 |
|---|---|
| Living: 48 months × AUD 2,100 (assumed) | AUD 100,800 |
| Health cover: about 4 × AUD 600 | AUD 2,400 |
| Total before visa and flights | AUD 263,200 |
After you graduate
The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) gives 2 years after a bachelor’s degree. You must apply within 6 months of finishing, hold health cover and meet the English requirement.
