What the German Embassy Dhaka asks for

For English-taught programmes, the embassy asks for proof of English such as TOEFL or IELTS, unless your bachelor’s was completed in Australia, the UK or the USA. For German-taught programmes, it recommends a Zertifikat B1 with a good result or higher.

Why some German helps

Even on English-taught degrees, housing contracts, insurance and paperwork are usually in German. Basic German at A1 to A2 makes daily life and part-time jobs much easier.
