Tests US universities accept
Most universities accept TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, PTE Academic and the Duolingo English Test, and set their own minimums. There is no separate English test for the F-1 visa; the consular officer relies on your admission and may speak with you in English at the interview.
SAT, ACT, GRE and GMAT
Many undergraduate programmes are test-optional for the SAT or ACT, but a strong score can still help admission and merit awards. Some graduate programmes require the GRE or GMAT, while others waive it for strong academic records or relevant experience. Check each programme’s current policy.
