Cost FAQs

Is the GIC spent upfront?

No. The bank holds it and releases it to you in monthly instalments after you arrive.

Can part-time work cover my costs?

Only partly. You can work up to 24 hours a week off campus in term; retail and food-service jobs often pay CAD 15 to 18 an hour.

Is a master’s cheaper than a bachelor’s?

The 2026 average graduate tuition is CAD 24,028, compared with CAD 41,746 for undergraduates, and thesis-based master’s are often funded.
