How Australian universities assess Bangladeshi HSC and degrees, and the pathways that lead to direct entry.

The short version
- After HSC: the University of Melbourne does not list Bangladesh’s HSC as a recognised Year 12 equivalent, so you would usually enter through a foundation program. Monash assesses overseas qualifications against Australian Year 12.
- Pathways: Monash College diplomas and the Monash University Foundation Year, and Trinity College Foundation Studies for Melbourne, lead into degrees.
- After a bachelor’s: coursework master’s entry depends on your degree, grades and subject, assessed course by course.

A foundation year adds a year of fees and living costs. Diploma pathways can let you enter the second year of some degrees, so compare the total time and cost of each route.
Master’s entry
Coursework master’s programmes set their own rules on the degree you need, the grade and any related subject. Some two-year master’s accept a bachelor’s in any field, while others need a related degree or work experience. Check the course page for your exact qualification, and provide certified English translations of documents not in English.

Can I enter an Australian bachelor’s directly with HSC?
