Imperial College London: highlights

Imperial College London teaches only science, engineering, medicine and business, and ranks joint 2nd in the QS World University Rankings 2027, the highest of any UK university. For 2027 entry it is offering at least 300 scholarships of £15,000 a year to international students, which is unusual at this level.

  • After HSC: Imperial’s offers are built around A levels and the IB. Computing asks for A*A*A to A*AAA with A* in Mathematics, plus the TMUA admissions test.
  • For a master’s: Imperial’s published standard for Bangladesh is a 4-year bachelor’s degree from BUET with 75%. Graduates of other universities should ask admissions before applying.
  • Tuition: £47,800 a year for BEng Computing and £48,300 for MSc Computing, for 2027 entry.
  • Scholarship: Imperial Inspires: £15,000 for each year of study, with at least 300 awards for 2027 entry.
  • Deadlines: UCAS by 13 January 2027 at 18:00 UK time. MSc Computing has rounds closing on 6 January, 10 March and 28 April 2027.

How to apply

  1. Bachelor’s: apply through UCAS and book the TMUA

    Register for the admissions test well before the October or January sitting.

  2. Master’s: apply through My Imperial

    The application fee is £90. Apply in the earliest round you can.

  3. Complete the scholarship application if invited

    Eligible applicants are invited to answer an extra essay question or submit a full scholarship application.

  4. Apply for the UK Student visa

    Use your CAS, a TB test certificate from an IOM clinic and 28 days of financial evidence.

Living costs in London

London is the most expensive place to study in the UK. As a guide, Study UK puts student living costs in London at about £1,300 to £1,400 a month.

For the visa you must show £1,171 a month for 9 months (£10,539) outside London, or £1,529 a month (£13,761) in London, on top of your first year of tuition. The figures rise to £1,203 and £1,570 for applications from 30 November 2026.

What one year costs in total

A one-year MSc in Computing comes to roughly £64,000 to £65,000: £48,300 in fees plus about £15,600 to £16,800 for 12 months of living costs.

Can I get into Imperial with HSC?

Imperial’s offers are set in A levels and the IB, and HSC is not part of its standard offers. For BEng Computing you need A*A*A to A*AAA with A* in Mathematics and the TMUA test. Ask admissions how your qualification would be treated before applying.

What does Imperial ask from Bangladeshi graduates for a master’s?
